Fire destroys Tinsley facility
A massive fire has destroyed the premises of Tinsley special trailers, the UK based manufacturer of special trailers for the crane industry.
The relatively small business is located in Stockton-on-Tees in the north of England. A fire broke out at a neighbour’s facility and quickly spread to Tinsley which was in the final stages of preparing its display for Vertikal Days next week.
Tinsley not only builds counterweight and boom trailers with built in fall protection systems, but also serves the crane and aerial lift industries with blasting and painting services, Crane repairs, rebuilds and servicing. It also produces replacement body panels.

The company has lost everything and has set up temporary accommodation in the yard and is trying to start the long recovery process. Its entire exhibit for next weeks event went up in flames, but the company is still hoping, with the support of its customers and friends, to attend Vertikal Days – albeit with a much more basic display.
Vertikal Comment
A fire of this level is tragic at any time, coming just before an event that you hope will help promote your business for the year adds to the damage.
Tinsley is a dynamic team of people, if anyone can pull something out of the ashes it is them. But having to come back from something like this during a recession is doubly difficult. We wish them the very best of luck in recovering from this.
