Bigge moves into SC

Bigge Crane and Rigging has opened a new location in Aiken, South Carolina expanding its coverage in the South Eastern USA.

Bigge Crane and Rigging has opened a new location in Aiken, South Carolina expanding its coverage in the South Eastern USA.

The Aiken location will offer bare crane rental in South Carolina and the entire Gulf Coast region including Florida, Georgia and Alabama.

The cranes available will include Rough Terrain, All Terrain, and crawler cranes, as well as pick & carry cranes and boom trucks.

The Aitken branch joins recently added ‘sister locations’ in Houston, Texas and Richmond, Virginia and Bigge claims that it now has the largest Rough Terrain crane fleet in the southeast.

Its Houston operation is increasingly specialising in wind farm projects and heavy transportation in the region.

In Richmond, it is specialising in servicing the refinery and power industry sectors, including heavy lift and transport projects required by nuclear plant decommission, coal and gas plant maintenance.

Joe Nelms Bigge vice president of sales and marketing said: “Though we have always provided nationwide bare rental, being local to our customers in the South has allowed us to be a lot more competitive with the established firms there. As we are consistently growing, we’ve found our customers prefer that our fleet is generally newer and better maintained”
