Lavendon insists on IOSH

Lavendon Access Services parent of UK accesses rental companies Nationwide Platforms, Panther and EPL Skylift is requiring all of its managers to take the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely course.

The course will be delivered in-house by its own training department, the Lavendon Academy. It is designed to teach managers how to ensure best practice in health and safety and to ensure it is followed by their teams.

Six delegates participated in the first Lavendon course all of whom passed with a 100 percent score. Subjects covered included: assessing risks, controlling risks, identifying hazards, understanding responsibilities, investigating accidents and incidents, measuring performance and protecting the work environment.

One of the successful candidates was Marc Johnson, regional director for
Lavendon Access Services. He said: “Being accredited to deliver the IOSH course in-house is a testament to our training department which is constantly and pro-actively expanding its portfolio of courses.

“This latest achievement gives us a great opportunity to drive accident prevention and safety standards even higher amongst our staff and customers. We are determined to take a leadership role in continuously raising these standards in our own industry. Delivering innovative courses shows that we are striving to ensure our workplaces are as safe as possible.”

After a successful audit by IOSH, Mark Robinson, Training Manager for the Lavendon Academy, said they are now able to offer the course to external candidates.
