Gould replaces Oktopus
Richard Gould owner of Oktopus UK Ltd, until it went into administration in 2009, has dropped the Oktopus name from two of his companies in favour of Gould and set up a couple of new companies to exploit lifting and vacuum handling opportunities.
Bromsgrove, UK based Gould established Oktopus Plant Hire Ltd, in 2009 to acquire the assets of Oktopus UK from the administrator also establishing, Oktopus Contracts Ltd and Oktopus Training Ltd at that time.
Earlier this year he changed the name of Oktopus Training to Gould Vacuum Technology and Oktopus Plant Hire to Gould Plant Hire. The change reflects the move of the Oktopus lifting line distribution to GGR.
In May he registered Maxim Lifting Services, which offers a wide range of contract lifting and crane services, having previously registered Gould Lifting as and Hire Services as well as Gould Contracts Ltd which is owned by another company of his Trickie Holdings Ltd.
Gould has a strong history in the Cladding panel and glass handling fields, and offers a range of equipment for sale or rental under the Oktopus Group trading banner. He also helped establish the Klaas aluminium crane range in the UK and currently operates a fleet of around seven units.

Vertikal Comment
The holding company name is appropriate with so many companies registered it is tricky keeping up with them all. The company has though continued to trade under the Oktopus Group name, at least until as recently as July.
