Two survive telehandler plunge

Two men managed to escape serious injury yesterday after the telehandler they were using fell more than seven metres from a bridge in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The two, who are employed by the Manhattan Road and Bridges Company were reportedly moving scaffold on a bridge project on Interstate 244 (1-244) close to the Tulsa County Jail, when the Skytrak telehandler rolled down an embankment and then dropped over seven metres to the ground, landing on its side.

One of the men suffered a broken ankle while the other was unhurt.
