The visitor traffic at SAIE improved as the week progressed with many exhibitors reporting a good show and some decent orders. There was much discussion at the show about next year's event.

A clash with a Milan based show could force SAIE to consider moving to every two years. Access exhibitors were clearly divided over this possible eventuality. The SAIE organisers will of course be considering their options in the weeks ahead.

Highlights at this years show included Merlo’s 30 metre telehandler, the new quirky 34ft articulated boom lift from JLG, along with the announcement of its spider lift agreement with Hinowa, the new truck mounted Cela DT21 - which we rated as the best new product on show, the new GSR E210PX, Oil&Steel’s new Eagle 6035, Platform Basket’s 13 metre lightweight telescopic boomed spider lift, CTE’s 17 metre battery powered spider lift, Fassi’s 180 tonne metre F1800AXP loader crane, CMC’s 24 metre articulated boom on a 3.5 tonne chassis, Multitel’s massive 83 metre 830 and Socage’s pick up mounted A314 with superstructure levelling.
