Nacanco enters spider lift market

Italian based rental company Nacanco has signed a ‘cooperation agreement’ with German spider lift manufacturer Teupen.

The agreement, part of Nacanco’s strategy to diversify its fleet during the slowdown in the construction market, principally covers the addition of an unspecified number of Teupen’s 12.8 metre Leo13GT model to the Nacanco fleet, making them available throughout the company’s network and promoting them to new market sectors as well as exiting customers.

Nacanco and Teupen are also working on a special Italian training course for the Leo 13GT and a sales training programme to explain the various applications for spider lifts to the sales force. The company says that the addition of spider lifts to the fleet was driven by requests from the market, particularly those parts of Italy where for various reasons lighter, more compact machines are required.

Tobias Körner of Teupen said: “As our major competing manufacturers are Italian, we are very proud that Nacanco, a leader in the rental market in Italy, has chosen Teupen for its range of spider platforms. After starting with the Leo 13 GT model, we hope to provide Nacanco with larger models and help Nacanco to become increasingly specialist in the access technology in Italy“.

Nacanco’s chief executive Marzia Giusto added: We selected the Teupen after a comparative test between the five largest spider platform manufacturers. We initially looked at the technical details, performance, and value for money, obviously safety as well as ease of use, accessibility to various parts of the machine for maintenance, the response time for faults, and so on.”

“With this new model Nacanco will enter into the forestry market, but also further refine our presence in the building restoration sector, especially in the city centres and construction sites where space is limited and weight is an issue, not to mention the plant engineering sector.”
