German crane rental company Franz Bracht Kran-Vermietung has taken delivery of an 800 tonne Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 All Terrain crane, the second LTM1750-9.1 to join ithe Bracht group.
The handover
The nine axle crane travels with its 52 metre main boom and once on site up to 91 metres of lattice extensions can be added along with the Y-guying Superlift system to achieve a maximum tip height of just under 160 metres with the main boom extended to 49 metres, a 19 metre extension between the boom nose and jib pivot point with the full 91 metres of luffing jib. The maximum radius is 116 metres at which it can handle 1.81 tonnes. The capacity on the fully telescoped main boom is just under 100 tonnes - or 208 tonnes with the Y-Guy system installed.

The crane replaces an older 700 tonne crane and joins the company's first LTM 1750-9.1 that has been in the Hofmann fleet for the past 10 years.
Its first assignment involved repair work on a wind turbine in Lünen, changing the main shaft at a 100 metre hub height. The LTM 1750-9.1 was configured with 49.1 metre telescopic boom, 20 metre lattice extensions, 42 metre luffing jib and 204 tonnes of ballast, reaching 110 metres hook height to remove the 50 tonne rotor.
The crane on its first job
Managing director Dirk Bracht said: "The LTM 1750-9.1 has proven its abilities within our group overt the past decade. So, we decided to acquire another crane just like it. It's a sound decision. The new model will replace an AC 700 in our fleet. Our large cranes are fully booked in the wind sector until the end of next year. Thanks to its high load capacity, the LTM 1750-9.1 is also ideal for use in the wind power industry."
Franz Bracht Kran-Vermietung was established in 1964 and employs around 800 people across 16 locations. The company operates 1,400 units including around 300 cranes and a good number of telhandlers and aerial work platforms. Its partnership with Liebherr began in 1975 with the purchase of an LG 1130 lattice boom crane.
