Major fleet renewal for Prangl

Austrian crane and access company Prangl has announced a €30 million investment in new cranes and equipment.

The company says that having recently completed a €15 million investment in new aerial lifts and telehandlers. It is now looking to replace a large portion of its fleet in order to keep the average down and adapt to changing market demands.

The company has also reported a 15 percent increase in revenues for the first half of 2010/11 – its fiscal year ends in July - with the past two months showing a further, more rapid pick-up in activity.

Chief executive Christian Prangl said: "We are at the beginning of a company-wide renewal strategy of our entire fleet. Including mobile cranes and heavy transport. We are looking at investing in new technology and equipment adapted to the changing market needs. We see positive signs and want to take as much advantage of this momentum as possible.”

“At the end of 2010 we moved out Tirol branch to new premises covering more than 11,000 square metres, with its own workshop and service centre, which will help improve the level of service we offer in the West. Our goal through the difficult times was to maintain our highly qualified staff and thanks to the concerted efforts of all we have done quite well."
