Bridge bashed in NZ
A truck with over height loader crane crashed into a rail bridge in Marton, just west of Palmerston North, New Zealand last night causing substantial damage. No one was hurt in the incident.
A KiwiRail structural inspector was called out and said that crane had ripped a beam from the bridge opening up a wide gap. The truck was pulled out from under the bridge but rail traffic was halted until the structural integrity of the damaged bridge could be assessed.
