40ft compact HAB at Vertikal Days

German based lift manufacturer H.A.B will use next week’s Vertikal Days to launch its new ultra compact S142-12E2WD on the UK market.

With a platform height of just over 40ft or if you prefer a working height of 14.12 metres, the S142-12 measures barely more than a regular 20/26ft/32ft mini scissor. With a 1.2 metre overall width and 2.7 metre overall length.

Platform capacity is an unrestricted 350kg including at the end of the 1.2 metre deck extension. When extended the platform measures a very useful 3.7 metres, the three arm scissor construction offers the platform rigidity typical of heavy duty Dutch or German scissor lifts.

Direct electric drive offers significant battery life even with jobs involving a good deal of travel and in spite of its 3,500kg overall weight. The manufacturer says that it will travel over two kilometres non-stop on a single charge.

The H.A.B will be featured on the stand of UK distributor Ascendant at Vertikal Days.

Vertikal Comment

Demand for short narrow 40ft electric scissor lifts is growing as Iteco and Haulotte have discovered or should that be - proved. H.A.B showed the prototype of this new model at Bauma and began to ship units towards the end of last year. Holland Lift has also introduced a 14 metre version of its new Eco Star range which is doing well.
Buyers now have a good choice with four models on the market covering the regular to heavy duty ultra rigid concepts. This unit is most definitely worth a look and with any luck you will be able to compare it directly with the other three units at the show.
