Linden Comansa confirms LCL165

Spanish tower crane manufacturer Linden Comansa has confirmed that it will launch the fourth of its new LCL series luffing jib tower cranes in September.

The new crane the LCL165 will be available in two versions with eight or 12 tonnes maximum capacity, with both offering a maximum jib length of 50 metres, made up of five metre sections. Maximum freestanding height will be 56.6 metres, although this can be increased when its tower sections are combined with tower sections from other series.

The eight tonne LCL 165 will come with a 24 kW/32hp hoist (37 and 50 kW/50 and 67hp hoists will be optional), while the 12 tonne LCL 165 be equipped with a 50 kW/67hp hoist as standard - (with 65 kW/87hp as an option). All hoists include the Effi-Plus system, which increases the hoist speed when lifting light loads.

Comansa has completely renewed its range of luffers in little more than a year (The LCL 190 was unveiled at Bauma in 2010, while the LCL 280 and LCL 310 were launched in March this year. The new range replaced the LCL-200 and LCL-250, which first appeared in 1997.

The new Linden Comansa LCL165


An eight tonne prototype LCL 165 with 50 metre jib and 21 metre tower has already been erected at the company’s premises in Huarte (Navarre, Spain), where it is undergoing a full test programme which includes erecting and dismantling, static and dynamic load tests, checking and verifying the crane’s overload and safety systems and a full study of service and repair accessibility.
