HSS to Sell RentX off piecemeal

HSS-RentX has announced the sale of seven branches in South Carolina and Texas, effectively indicating that the HSS-RentX business the 20th largest rental company in North America, will be dismantled.

Its four South Carolina locations in the Columbia area have been sold to Thompson Acquisition Co. Thompson already owns two Grand Rental Station franchises, a portable toilet rental business and an office trailer rental business in the Columbia area.

The three HSS-RentX locations in Texas have been sold to a group led by the company’s long time manager in the area, Michael Frazier.
The company claims to have deals pending for several of the remaining branches.
