New Multitel goes on tour
The new 32 metre Multitel MJ320 is out on a grand European tour and has arrived in the UK.
The new machine launched at Apex is mounted on a Mercedes 1829 chassis and target at what some consider to be a gap left by the discontinuation of the Bronto S34MDT.
The new model features a four section boom and telescopic jib, providing up to 24 metres of outreach with 120kg, while maximum capacity is 325kg (280kg with 3.2 metre extending deck). In its narrow jacking mode – with all four outriggers fully retracted - outreach is a handy 15 metres, while the overall width with one sided jacking is just 3.5 metres.

This is also the largest Pagliero model that does not use a boom tip mounted gearbox to rotate the jib. The company has instead chosen the more mainstream hydraulic cylinder as used on the smaller MX models and the offerings of other manufacturers.
Melvyn Else of UK/Ireland distributor Access Industries said “this is Multitel through and through. Not only is the upper boom all aluminium extruded sections but the Multitel MJ320 has a telescopic jib boom that gives over 10m of outreach. It has a lower boom that is raised to a much steeper angle than many other platforms in this size range thus eliminating any ‘hole’ in the envelope over the top of the truck. It’s an ideal platform for inner city working.”

Else, who is taking the unit out on tour in the UK next week, added: “This will give those people who did not make it to APEX the opportunity to see this new model first hand? It is one thing to see a platform in a brochure or specification sheet but it is another to see it in the ‘metal’ and get your hands on it”.
