Bauma Africa for 2013

Messe München International, organisers of Bauma, Bauma China and most recently bC India, has announced Bauma Africa, to be held in September 2013 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The company will set up a subsidiary in South Africa to organise the event, which it hopes will attract around 200 exhibitors with around 20,000 square metres of exhibition space. In terms of attendees, the show is directed primarily at Sub-Saharan Africa.

Eugen Egetenmeir, managing director of Messe München said: "South Africa is a market with a future which offers great potential for the construction machinery industry. The feedback regarding such an event has been very positive."

The American Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) is supporting the event as part of its declared strategy to see a major construction equipment show in southern Africa.
