Price of UK Safety test halved

The Construction Industry Training Board has agreed to cut the price it charges for the Health and Safety awareness test from £35 to £17.50.

The test tends to be a part of most if not all of the site qualification cards and thus adds to the overall cost of obtaining the specific cards. Many considered the cost to be too high for what it was and even looked on it as a pure money making scheme. The cut will therefore be welcomed universally.

The CITB says that the fact that over 300,000 people took the test last year, has allowed them to reduce the cost per person and that it also hopes that this will encourage more to take the test and thus play a part in improving site safety.
