Scaffold and two barges

A photo arrived this week of a novel way of gaining access to the underside of a footbridge.

The man has lashed two small barges together and then installed a rudimentary alloy scaffold tower straddling the two barges. The tower has a half guardrail that is more dangerous than none at all given its height and the spigots pointing upwards at a nice height to impale a man who slips.

The man himself also looks less than confident with his handiwork – how he plans to keep the barge from floating downstream is not clear. A Death Wish??? Well might just scrape in based on the number of things that might go wrong, but most of all due to those below waist level spigots.
