Manitowoc reaffirms its UK presence
Manitowoc has moved to assure its UK customers of its long term commitment to a strong local presence.
This message comes after a number of rumours began circulating that the company, which includes Grove mobile cranes, Manitowoc crawler cranes and Potain tower cranes, was considering closing its purpose built headquarters in Buckingham, something that it dismisses completely.
In a letter sent to UK customers today, managing director Steve Barnett clearly states the importance of the Buckingham facility, which it built in 2008, to the company’s plans for the future. He also adds that the workshops and test facility “which is enjoying good levels of activity” are a key part of this.

The company has had some notable success in 2011 with its 300 tonne Grove GMK6300, and Potain MD560B tower crane, in spite of a relatively quiet market. It is also planning a strong showing at Vertikal Days in June as it celebrates 110 years in business.
