Boom Logistics wins Olympic Contract
Australian crane and access rental company Boom Logistics says it has been nominated as the successful bidder for a five year contract to supply crane services for BHP Billiton's Olympic Dam mine operations and expansion in South Australia.
The contract win is conditional upon the two companies reaching agreement on finalising the detailed terms and conditions for the project. No details of the likely value of the contract have been issued.
BHP Billiton gained approval for the massive expansion of the large open cast mine late last year. The plan is to create one of the world’s largest open pit mines with the potential to increase copper production from around 180,000 tonnes a year to 750,000 tonnes and more.
