Loader crane fatality in Brisbane

A teenager was crushed yesterday while unloading a truck with a loader crane at a Brisbane school in Queensland, Australia.

Kurt Murdoch, 19, was delivering a load of treated logs to the school and was using the small loader crane to offload the 10 metre long timbers. It seems that he managed to operate the crane so that the boom crushed him against the truck bed/chassis, he was working alone and was found later.

Murdoch had been employed by Richers Transport for around nine months.
