The new JCB 524-50 compact telehandler to be launched at Samoter

JCB says it has designed the 524-50 to bring greater lift and reach to sites previously restricted to skid steer loaders. The new unit introduces new levels of cab comfort and access, tractive effort and ease of operation.

Features include two range hydrostatic drive, one for travel and one for on site. The 52 degree steer angle on both axles provide a tight inside turning radius of only three metres in all wheel steer mode, other steering modes are crab and front only.

The cab features an automotive style interior with suspension seat, new joystick controls for lift/lower and crowd/dump functions and the travel direction shuttle switch. Separate levers control the extend/retract and auxiliary functions on the standard model with an option available to have all the controls on a single lever.

Digital gauges are housed in the front console unit which is positioned forward for greater load and attachment visibility, while the central seating position provides better all round visibility when driving.

JCB claim that the 524-50 offers all of the benefits of a skid steer loader for operating in confined areas but with the advantage of a much smoother ride for the operator, with or without a load.
