Ramirent buys Hyrgruppen

Ramirent, the Finnish based northern European rental company has agreed to acquire Swedish rental company, Hyrgruppen Sverige AB for SK37 million (£2.75 million). Hyrgruppen was founded in 1995 and operates a general rental fleet including mini excavators compressors and tools but also has a fleet of aerial lifts including scissors and articulating booms up to 16 metres.

The company has 20 employees and operates from five locations in Eskilstuna, Sala, Strängnäs, Västerås, Köping all located in central Sweden, a region, where Ramirent lost coverage with the sale of its share in Stavdal lift AB in December Stavdal sale

Ramirent has offered jobs to all 20 Hyrgruppen staff, including managing director Hans Kördel. The deal, is subject to approval by the Ramirent board and is expected to be confirmed by May second.

“This acquisition is fully in line with Ramirent’s strategy of increasing its local presence in selected locations”, said Ramirent AB’s managing director, Mikael Öberg, “Hyrgruppen’s five customer centres will enhance our position in the important market in and around the Mälardalen area, which also means that we can provide our customers with increased local service.”
