Four more Igos for Bronson
US based crane sales and rental company Bronson Crane has taken delivery of four new Potain Igo self-erecting tower cranes.
The Salt Lake City, Utah based company currently runs a fleet of 12 self-erecting cranes, to which it has added three Igo T85 As and an Igo T70 as part of an expansion plan.
Bronson is targeting the new cranes at companies in a variety of industries, including contractors in masonry, steel erection, framing, concrete, general construction and now civil/bridge deck contractors.
The Igo T70 has a maximum capacity of 4,000kg and can take 1,450kg out to the 40 metre jib tip, maximum under hook height is 32 metres. The T85A is a six tonne unit, and can take 1,400kg out to 45 metres radius at the jib jib, while offering a 38 metre under hook height.
The cranes feature Potain’s Optima load control system that automatically adapts and maximizes hoist speed for efficient cycling and can be controlled with wireless remote control, and equipped with the optional Ultra View cab.

With the addition of the four new cranes Bronson has two HD 40s, four Igo 50s, three T 85 A’s, one T 70 and an Igo 42 in its fleet. The company said that it is now looking at replacing its five non-Potain self-erecting cranes in order to switchover to an all Potain line up.
Earl Bronson, founder of the company, said: “Our customer base, which is extremely diverse, has been very happy with the Igo line. The reach and capacity of these cranes is incredible. They have really led us into a new realm of lifting.”
“We have rented, sold and serviced self-erecting cranes in our area for more than decade. We have been in the 21 to 42 metre range, but never had the opportunity for the reach, hook heights or capacities these Igo cranes are offering us.”
Bronson Crane was established in August 2006 and has four full-time staff and an on-call crew of operators and iron workers. In 2008, Bronson became an official Potain distributor. Its cranes have worked on premier jobsites, such as the Manhattan Project in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Canyons in Park City, Utah, the Towers at Brigham Young University in Provo, and the Bridges at City Front in Salt Lake City.
