The worlds first Hitachi-Sumitomo SCX400T sold to Dunne Group Ltd, Gordon Dunne (L) seals the order with Rod Abbot of NRC at SED

This order follows a recent order for a Hitachi Sumitomo SCX550,
55 Tonne Lattice Crawler Crane. The new telescopic will be delivered in the next week or two and will go straight out on a contract in Scotland.

Rod Abbot of NRC told Vertikal that with the capacities on this unit coming much closer to a traditional lattice boomed crane than ever before he expects a lot more companies to look at this model.

Another factor that might well influence users and hirers is the fact that the use of red diesel is in mobile cranes is likely to end next year, this could well “level the playing field” in terms of transport costs making the telescopic crawler crane a cost effective alternative for short term contracts.
