£25,000 raised for charity
The Lavendon Group Cycle Challenge which ended last month has raised £25,000 for various charities around Europe.
In total around 40 Lavendon employees took part in the charity event in which four mixed teams of employees from Nationwide Platforms (UK), Gardemann (Germany), Lavendon (France) and DK Rentals (Belgium) completed a 790km bike event through each of the four countries.
The challenge began at Gardemann’s Alpen depot in north west Germany and finished on 25th September at Lavendon headquarters in Lutterworth, UK. To find out more about the challenge click:

Setting out from Gardemann HQ
Emma Dicken, learning and development consultant for Lavendon tasked with organising the fundraising challenge, said: “The event brought the business together to achieve something very special. To get through the Challenge and reach our final goal we had to work closely as a team and overcome all obstacles as a group. On the way we’ve seen new friendships formed, new experiences shared and a brilliant sense of team spirit emerge. I’d like to thank everyone who took part and donated to the cause to help us achieve something remarkable for the business as a whole.”

Three cheers for all those who took part
Don Kenny, chief executive of Lavendon, added: “The funds raised for very worthy causes will go to making a huge difference. The staggering amount of £25,000 is a direct reflection of the hard work of those employees who took part in the Cycle Challenge, whether they were on a bike, in a support vehicle, or behind the scenes."
