Snorkel appoints Proing in Columbia

Aerial lift manufacturer Snorkel has appointed Proing as its official distributor in Colombia.

Proing was established in Bogotá in 1997 as an engineering consultancy and in the years since has expanded into a construction equipment distributor and has added a rental fleet that includes aerial lifts, excavators, cranes, telehandlers, compressors, pumps and compactors.

Proing was the first company in Colombia to join IPAF and in September it became the country's first official IPAF operator training centre. This followed the adoption a new ministry of labour resolution that introduces new work at height rules above 1.5 metres.

Carlos Ramirez (L) of Proing exchanges contracts with Snorkel's Mike Falcon

Mike Falcon, Snorkel regional sales manager for South America who signed the official distribution contract with Carlos Ramirez, owner of Proing, said: "Proing is a great partner for Snorkel and a great ambassador for our industry.”

“This is a company that has embraced the concept of safe working at height and continues to be a real pioneer in Colombia. Proing works extremely hard to promote the safety and productivity benefits of aerial lifts and has excellent customer relationships in the construction sector. Working together we will grow the market for Snorkel products."

Ramirez added: "For the management of Proing this is a great opportunity to align our company with one of the most recognised brands in the world for work at height equipment. We can now offer our industrial and construction customers a leading solution that greatly improves their productivity and safety when working at height, while also helping them comply with new government regulations."
