Cyril Claridge 1924 - 2012

Former administration manager for Grove UK, Cyril John Claridge has died aged 88, following a long illness.

Claridge spent the most of his career with Grove and before that John Allen of Cowley, Oxford which sold Grove cranes under the Allen Grove banner, then the Grove Allen after it was acquired by Grove dropping the Allen name in the 1970s.

He became well known among UK crane rental companies in the 1980s when he looked after UK market sales administration, taking care of all the paperwork required to build and hand over a new crane. He was also a director and trustee of the Grove Europe pension fund following his retirement.

His wife Margaret and son Ian both pre-deceased him.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday 21st November at 14:00 at St Laurence Church, Warborough, Oxfordshire OX10 7DG.
