The company offers a full support service for manufacturers, including, import, unloading, storage (indoors or out), technical modification/assembly, pre-delivery checks, cleaning, painting/touch up and delivery. Once equipment has been delivered, PEL can help with spare parts supply, including storage, picking and dispatch. It can also handle warranty repairs and field service.

In addition to its warehousing, the company has offices and meeting rooms available making it a practical location to bring customers for demonstrations or meetings. It is also possible to rent an office in which to locate a permanent employee.

The service that PEL is offering is an ideal way for a company to get a foothold in the American market, avoiding the need to commit to any long term property leases or employment contracts. Costs flex with demand as customers are only charged for what they use. All services can be selected on a menu basis. When business is quiet the overhead falls to minimum or zero levels.

It allows an importer to hire a sales person or employ one of the many networks of independent representatives, and ensure that they are fully supported with inventory, parts stocks, warranty coverage and a base without any long term commitments. It is also a service that can grow with a company as business takes off.

Even after a business has started to flourish and justifies its own location many prefer to maintain the flexibility and convenience of a serviced warehouse such as that offered by PEL.

Shaun Flanagan, was the founder of Horizon High Reach in the early 1980’s, he and his partner Mike Davis sold that business in 1989 to Carpenter, the parent of UpRight Inc. Flanagan stayed with the business and later moved on to set up Horizon Europe, a re rent fleet based in Rotterdam that ran over 300 units.
