Soft ground tips boom

Two men using a boom lift to put up Christmas lights in Ontario, Canada ended up in hospital yesterday.

The overturned boom

The incident occurred at a private home in Mitchell – west of Toronto – when the 33 and 51 year old were driving a Marklift boom on the snow covered grass at a height of around seven metres.

The ground gave way under one side of the machine causing it to overturn. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
