First new MECs arrive

The first 18 MEC 2633ES, 10 metre working height ultra narrow, electric scissor lifts have arrived at MEC Europe in Dordrecht this week, ready to sell.

A further 80 MEC scissor lifts will arrive between now and the end of July and will include the 1932ES, 19 ft/5.8 metre Platform height micro scissors.

MEC Europe is looking for dealers and says that it already has good candidates in most, countries but is keen to find more prospects in Switzerland and Austria.

The last time MEC units were shipped to Europe at least three years ago, they were then produced by Mayville which decided to exit the lift business. Manitou signed a co-operation and manufacturing ageement with Mayville in early 2000. and its scissor lift range is still based on the original MEC designs.

The new MEC company is based in Fresno and operates a plant in Selma California, it purchased the designs and parts from Mayville but has re designed most models, improving the dimensions and upgrading the components.
