Dan Jones 1957 – 2012

We have received the sad news of the premature death of Dan Jones, Genie regional sales manager for Indiana, Michigan, Illinois Missouri and Kansas, aged 55.

Jones has spent 25 years in the equipment business, starting as a sales rep with Bode Finn in 1987, moving to Wacker four years later and Terex and moving to Genie products 12 years ago. Genie has issued the following statement which quite honestly says it all:

“On December 9th Terex Aerial Work Platforms lost a valued team member and friend, Dan Jones. Dan was born and raised in his beloved state of Kentucky, where he graduated from Middlesboro High School and Morehead State University where he was a guard on the football team. Dan was a 25-year veteran in the equipment industry and spent his last 12 years representing Genie products.”

As regional manager, Dan’s territory included Indiana and Michigan, while working the territory he developed and built many strong relationships with his customers or as Dan liked to call them – ‘friends’. In his personal life he volunteered as a coach for many soccer clubs and associations in the states of Kentucky and Indiana. He also enjoyed golfing, driving his ‘65 Mustang, wildlife photography on his rural property, enjoying a good cigar with friends, and most of all showing pictures of his two beautiful grandchildren.”

Jones is survived by his wife Donna of 35 years, sons Jonas and James, grandchildren Tegan and Kara, and their mother Joann.
