Matermaco sold

Matermaco, the Belgian distribution company that handles, Haulotte, Komatsu and Kubota, has been sold by its parent, the Atenor Group to the Dutch based Mechan Group,

Matermaco, which at one time was a major crane distribuytor, handling P&H, is the sole Belgian distributor for Massey-Fergusson, Liebherr excavators, Ausa and Bell. Revenues last year were in the region of €50 million.

The Mechan Group, is itself part of the Dutch ZBG Group and distributes equipment, particularly Massey-Fergusson tractors, to similar industry segments in the Netherlands.

The sale, which is subject to approval by Belgian competition authorities, will have a positive impact of more than three million euros on Atenor Group's 2005 results.
