Fall kills man at Grove

Dale Heefner, a test employee at the Grove plant in Shady Grove, PA, suffered a fatal fall on Saturday, while testing a crane.
Dale E. Heefner 58, an experienced member of the test crew at the Grove manufacturing plant in Shady Grove Pennsylvania, died at the local Waynesboro hospital on Saturday after he slipped and fell around 2.4 metres from the crane he was testing.

While not confirmed, it seems that he was helping stow a swingaway extension when it swung back on him, causing him to loose his balance in such a way that he landed on his head. Heefner was rushed to Waynesboro Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:46 a.m. Cause of death is being ruled as blunt force trauma to the head.
