Ladybird open in Bicester

Ladybird Crane Hire, the self erecting tower crane hirer of Rubery, near Birmingham, has opened a new 5,000 square metre depot just off the M-40 motorway in Bicester, Oxfordshire. The new location will serve customers in the south-east of England and London.

The two year old company already has a fleet of 65 self-erector cranes in its fleet and is still expanding at a rapid pace. The company is also adding to the peripheral services it offers, such as the Operator Training School, site planning services and a range of matching crane attachments.

The new Bicester depot has a workshop, equipment stores and an extensive yard storage area.

“Although self-erectors are relatively new to the UK, they are rapidly gaining acceptance as a cost-effective and efficient way of handling materials on building sites, just as they have on the Continent,” says sales manager, Jerry Welford.

“We are seeing unprecedented demand for our cranes,” he adds, "and we are winning new customers all the time. The level of repeat business is extremely high, once customers become accustomed to the cranes and the benefits they provide. Our certified operator training programme is also an invaluable part of the service, especially as compact tower-cranes become more widely accepted.”

Ladybird will offer with 1t to 4t maximum lift capacity, jib lengths up to 40m, and lift heights up to 24m from the new depot plus a new special compact ‘City’ model, with a 1.2m square mast section, which can be set up in lift-shafts of high-rise buildings.

The company aims to invite interested site managers, surveyors, planners and architects to visit the facility to learn more about the range of cranes available, the operational benefits and the cost-savings which they can provide.
