Huisman expands into Norway

Dutch based heavy lift and offshore specialist Huisman has opened a new subsidiary office in Bergen, Norway – its first in Scandinavia.

Headed by Gier Bjørkeli, who has 20 years of experience in the offshore industry, said: “By establishing a Norwegian office Huisman can be more responsive to demands from Norwegian clients. Bergen is the perfect location to serve the Norwegian market, as it is one of the most complex maritime clusters in the world and has a strong position in the global maritime market.”

As well as specialising in heavy lifting cranes Huisman also manufactures drilling equipment, pipelay equipment, winches and special vessels. It has production facilities in The Netherlands, China and the Czech Republic with sales and service offices in Slovakia, Brazil, Singapore and the USA.
