Kalmar RTG production shifts

Port crane and reach stacker manufacturer Kalmar is to relocate the production of rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) from Cargotec Industries (China) to Rainbow-Cargotec Industries.

The move is part of Cargotec’s joint venture plans with its long-time partner in China, Jiangsu Rainbow Heavy Industries which is now fully operational from its new facility in Taicang, Jiangsu province which now employs around 280.

The RTG production relocation is planned to be completed by the end of September and will lead to the reduction of 105 employees at Cargotec Industries in Shanghai.
