UK-based truck mounted lift rental company Smart Platform Rentals has opened its fourth location in Dartford, near London. Located just off Junction 1 of the M25 London orbital motorway, the depot has been stocked with a fleet of truck and mounted mounted lifts along with a few spider lifts. It will also feature Smart’s training academy which specialises in work at height courses.
The company said the depot was opened in response to growing demand from the region and that it offers easy access to south London, Kent and Essex as well as compliment its Hemel Hempstead branch which serves north London and the Home Counties.
Smart’s commercial director Guy Willett said: “Training has proven to be an extremely successful additional service that we offer. As with all of our sites the London East branch can offer IPAF training on self-propelled boom and scissor lifts as well as our vehicle mounts. We also offer PASMA accredited mobile tower training and even ladder training for clients who don’t use powered access.”
“We pride ourselves on having a wide choice of platforms, a very low average platform age and a very high model consistency,” added Willett. “We pioneered self-drive powered access rental in the UK over 10 years ago, proving that a small 3.5 tonne truck mount up to a 20 metres working height was what many contractors were wanting. Hitting multiple sites on the one hire, spot hiring sometimes just for a day, being able to drive on a standard car licence and not having to pay the high delivery/collection costs for self-propelled kit or the relatively expensive rates for an operated truck mount made perfect sense to them.”
