Lepine has 26 years of experience in the industry, having held various positions with Caterpillar in Belgium, Hungary, Poland, Russia, USA and the UK. He is currently the general manager of Caterpillar France in Grenoble. His deputy chairmen for the next two years are Christian Stryffeler, executive vice-president for the machine division of Ammann and Giampiero Biglia, business director at CNH Industrial.
Lepine said: “We will keep on promoting the idea of fair competition and free trade for all market players in Europe. What we have to avoid is non-needed complexity in laws and regulations.”
CECE is a group of 14 European national associations representing construction equipment companies with €25 billion of sales and 130,000 employees. The president’s term is two years.
