Peiner production moved to Wilmington

The production of Terex-Peiner tower cranes has been moved from Germany to the Terex plant in Wilmington, Delaware in the USA.

As part of a rationalisation plan the intention had been to shift production from the Peiner facility in Trier, to the Demag plant in Zweibrucken, 100 kms to the south. However with that plant already working at or near capacity, this was never going to be easy, and the start up was delayed, well after Trier was closed.

Steve Filipov told Vertikal.Net that with a majority of Peiner’s sales now in North America and capacity available in the newly revitalised Wilmington plant. It made good sense to move production there, and the Wilmington team were keen to get the additional product line.
