Mills announces succession
Brazilian scaffold and rental group Mills Estruturas e Serviços de Engenharia has announced a succession plan for the position of chief executive.
The current chief executive Ramon Vazquez, 60, has been in the role since 2009 will step down at the end of the year and will be replaced by Sergio Kariya, 40, current head of the Rental business - which largely comprises aerial lifts and telehandlers.

Sergio Kariya
Kariya joined the company in 2008 to lead the Rental division which has been the main focus for the group as it expanded the aerial lift business at a rapid pace. Prior to that he spent all of his career with Otis Elevator, apart from a three year break when he worked at Mills Rental between 2001 and 2004. As part of the transition process he has been appointed chief operating officer in addition to his current role.
Vazquez has been with Mills for 30 years and helped structure the company for its growth phase, which included the successful IPO in 2010. He will remain as an advisor to the board of directors.
