GMK6400 for Hack
German heavy lifting and haulage company Hack Schwerlastservice has taken delivery of a 400 tonne GMK6400 six axle All Terrain crane.
The crane’s first job was lifting construction materials weighing up to five tonnes at a radius of 86 metres, onto the roof of a building in the city centre of Koblenz. Configured with its MegaWingLift attachment and 79 metres of jib, the GMK6400 had to be rigged very carefully in order to avoid damaging a recently resurfaced road.
Company owner Udo Hack, said: “The new Grove went to work immediately and its first job threw us into the deep end – but it went perfectly and the crane has now completed several other challenging lifts across the region. The GMK6400 is fast to erect, easy to use, and can perform lifts that few other cranes of this size can complete. I am delighted with how busy the crane is.”

The GMK6400 features a 60 metre main boom and a 134 metre maximum tip height when combined with its luffing jib. Earlier this year Grove delivered its 50th unit since its launch – see:
