27 tonne Magni for steelworks

Italian steel forging specialist Franchini Acciai has taken delivery of a Magni HTH 21.11 heavy duty telehandler, the manufacturer’s first unit to go into service in the steel industry.

Based in Mairano, Franchini is a leading producer of large forgings for naval facilities, the oil and gas and nuclear energy markets. The unit was supplied by Magni’s local dealer TS Industrial Machines, which covers the Brescia, Bergamo, Cremona and Mantua regions.

The first Magni in the steel industry is ideal for handling heavy ingots

The HTH27 has a gross vehicle weight of 35,500kg, boasts a maximum lift capacity of 27 tonnes and can lift 14 tonnes to its full lift height of 10.85 metres or take seven tonnes to its maximum reach of 6.6 metres. Power comes from Mercedes Euro 4 Interim diesel, driving a two speed Rexroth hydrostatic transmission.

Standard features include a pressurised cab with air filtration, making it ideal for work in polluted or dusty environments. A compact overall length of 7.54 metres and a turning radius of 9.15 metres over the end of the forks also helps it manoeuvre around the plant. The unit was supplied with both forks and a hook.
