New finance director for Speedy

UK rental company Speedy has appointed Russell Down as group finance director, he will join the company in April.

Down is currently group finance director at Hyder Consulting, the international design and engineering consultancy. In all he spent 17 years with Hyder, which was recently acquired by Arcadis, including five years as group financial controller and six years in the Middle East.

A chartered account he started out with KPMG, and also spent five years with container leasing company Cronos as director of accounting.

Russell Down

Speedy chief executive Mark Rogerson said: "We are delighted that Russell is joining us. He has a strong financial and commercial track record and in depth experience of working in a PLC environment.
