Coussens adds its first Challenger
UK crane and heavy haulage company Coussens of Bexhill has taken delivery of a 55 tonne Terex 3160 Challenger All Terrain crane.
The Challenger 3160 has a 50 metre main boom and can lift up to 35.6 tonnes at a four metre radius. It can also travel within 12 tonne axle loads completely equipped with its full 6.8 tonnes of counterweight.
Company owner Paul Coussens said: “When other cranes need triple or quadruple reeving, the Challenger does the job with just one or two lines. Another important plus point is the crane’s negative boom angle – five degrees below horizontal, allowing the operator to reeve the crane without having to work at height. So too is the Challenger‘s radio remote control system.”
