Mr Plant tests telehandler market
UK rental company Mr Plant Hire has moved into the telehandler market with the purchase of two compact JCB 525-60 Hi-Viz units.
Launched at Conexpo last year, the six metre/2.5 tonne 525-60 is powered by a Tier 4 engine and is just 1.84 metres wide by 1.89 metres high. A simple two-stage hydrostatic transmission offers travel speeds of up to 25kph, while a short wheelbase and four-wheel drive makes the 525-60 highly manoeuvrable.
Mr Plant Hire operations director Tony Crawford, said: “JCB is the market leader for telescopic handlers, making this a logical decision for our expanding hire fleet. We fully intend to add more telehandlers over the coming months, and look forward to a long trading relationship with JCB. It is great to be moving into a new market sector by listening to our customer’s demands and supporting them with investment.”
