Able acquires Altitude

New York based Able Equipment Rentals has purchased the aerial work platform assets of Manhattan, New York based Altitude Equipment Rentals, a subsidiary of Platinum Maintenance Services. The division focuses on aerial lifts with self-propelled lifts from Genie, JLG and boom truck/platforms from Elliot.

Platinum is a major provider of scaffolding, façade cleaning and restoration, and interior maintenance services in New York City. As part of the deal Able will provide equipment and services to Platinum and its affiliated companies throughout New York City, under a continuing agreement.

Able’s general manager Mike Cohan said: "This transaction is a good opportunity for both parties as Platinum can focus on its building maintenance businesses and Able can add to its aerial work platform fleet. It offers customers of both companies continued top-tier experiences, more transparent pricing and no disruption of services."

Family owned Able was established in 1996, it is based in Deer Park, New York and operates from two other locations, one in Edison, North central New Jersey, the other in Pennsauken in South Jersey which also covers the Philadelphia, Delaware markets.
