Man on a cold tin roof

Spotted this morning in Derbyshire, in the UK, a man working on the side of a building by leaning over the edge of the roof, when he is just 100 metres from an aerial work platform supplier.

The man is around six to eight metres up and has gained access to the roof by balancing a ladder on top of a refrigeration service unit. Due to the picture quality we cannot see exactly how he managed to climb off the ladder and onto the roof, but as we all know this can be a real challenge in itself. Possibly the worst aspect of this is that the company involved is a national truck service and body work company, that almost certainly knows better.

In the words of our correspondent: “Good Morning, I have just walked outside my depot and seen this idiot working on a roof on a building opposite. He has no harness, no edge protection and the most scariest thing is that entry onto the roof was gained by using a ladder on top of a gantry they use for servicing fridge units on top of refrigeration lorries”

The man on the roof

“We are less than 100 yards away from the building and have booms and scissors available that could do it. If he falls then he is in for a nasty accident. The company is Marshall fleet services”.
“One for the death wish series I think”

We totally agree
