Standard insulation from Versalift

Versalift UK has introduced certified low voltage insulation as standard on its new Isuzu D-Max and Toyota Hilux pick-up mounted LAT135-H platform.

The new LAT135-H Low Voltage integrates its insulation technology within the boom structure, bucket controls and fittings, enabling dielectric flash-testing whilst the bucket is mounted to the platform. This prevents electric shock to persons on the ground who inadvertently touch the vehicle, mainframe or outriggers should the boom or bucket make contact with a live conductor.

Bucket controls are also protected, providing additional protection to the machine operator. The low voltage insulation is certified to the latest standards and rated to provide protection from live voltages up to 1kV AC.

Versalift sales director, Andy Bray, said: “Should the boom structure make inadvertent contact with a conductor, our certified 1kV protection will reduce the potential of serious or fatal injury. Electrocution is a significant risk when operating emergency decent controls fitted at ground level. Now an operator can use our ground controls to recover the boom quickly and be protected from electrocution from voltages up to 1kV AC. To maintain compliance to the low voltage standard an annual dielectric test is required. Our after-sales support is fully resourced to provide this service on a national scale.”

The new LAT135-H Low Voltage has a working height of 13.3 metres, an outreach of 6.1 metres and 230kg platform capacity
