SkyKing take on SkyHigh

SkyHigh the Belgian based manufacturer of self propelled, vehicle and trailer mounted lifts has appointed SkyKing as its distributor for the UK market.

Skyhigh produces a wide range of aerial lifts, including a number of specials, including rail mounted and explosion proof self propelled booms, trailer lifts and vehicle mounts, including Pick-up and 4x4 mounted lifts.

SkyHigh fit 10 and 12m booms to compact pick-up trucks

SkyKing adds the Skyhigh range to the GSR and Wumag vehicle mounted ranges that it already distributes. The company will have two models on its SED exhibition stand later this month.

Skyhigh has already sold a number of vehicle mounted lifts in the UK with previous partners, which include Versalift and Gardner Denver.

Vertikal Comment

This is a good move for Skyhigh which has a very interesting product range, in the past it has worked with manufacturers who have marketed its products alongside their own. This rarely works as the sales teams priority always errs to the manufacturers own products before getting around to pushing those of another manufacturer.

SkyKing has a track record of selling and supporting other producer’s products, it has the mounting skills and facilities for the vehicle mounted business and also covers niche markets such as rail.

The challenge for Skyking will be to sell and market the self propelled products against a well entrenched domestic manufacturer. Its best bet in the beginning might be to concentrate on the pick up and Land Rover mounts together with the rail and explosion proof models.
