Alimak deliver 2,000 container crane lift

Alimak has delivered its 2,000th container crane elevator. The crane elevator business began in the 1970’s as a small one off retrofit business, but has now become a major market segment for Alimak Industrial Lifts.

Alimak estimates its share of new sales (excluding China) as being close to 70 percent, it also says that its container crane lifts are now installed in 91 different countries.

An Alimak Elevator for container cranes

The company says that demand remains stable, albeit at slightly lower numbers than in the mid 90’s when orders for 12 to 30 units at a time was quite common, as users equipped existing fleets of cranes with the lifts.
It also says that the future challenge is to further develop its after sales service business and be read for replacement opportunities as many of the older elevators reach the end of their economical life.
